and everywhere in between and abroad. 

How It All Started

I’m Jill Graham and I teach American-style Mahjong, based on the official rules of the National Mah Jongg League. 

In 2020 with time on our hands, my friends and I decided we’d learn how to play Mahjong. Deciphering the rules was a group effort, and we read everything we could about mastering the game. We spent hours at our Mahjong table, which provided much needed mental stimulation and the gift of connection that we were missing during those days.

I quickly found that local Mahjong instructors were scarce.  That’s why in 2021 I decided to offer Mahjong instruction to share my knowledge and bring others into the Mahjong community. 

My specialty is breaking the game down in a way that makes it easy to learn this nuanced game.
